Security Technician

We are seeking a Security Technician who will provide stellar customer service and the installation of physical security products, while being a positively contributing team member. This is a fast-paced position that allows for significant learning and growth opportunities. Candidates will be handling state-of-the-art security systems as they advance their careers.

 

The ideal candidate will possess a strong Security fundamentals background and have experience leading a team. We offer flexible work hours, with work typically occurring during 1st or 2nd shift, Monday through Friday.

 

Responsibilities

· Installation, programming, cabling, and testing of low voltage and security equipment

· Training/certifications associated with manufacturer’s security systems and IT a plus

· Experience with diagnosing and troubleshooting various systems

· Knowledge and Experience with Access Control, CCTV, and Intrusion systems

· Experience installing connectors on multi-conductor cables and performing continuity tests, to include Cat6

· Installing door strikes, magnetic locks, panels, power supplies, and other components of a mechanical nature

· Adherence to specifications, instructions, and standard procedures

· Ability to read wiring schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals

· Maintain records/documents of work performed

· Perform other duties as requested

 

Required Skills and Experience

• Must possess Class D Security License

• Passion for customer service and quality of work

• Mandatory to have working knowledge of equipment application, compatibility, mounting techniques, programming, cabling, and testing for both hardware/software

• Perform service inspections and troubleshoot Access, CCTV, Intrusion systems as required

• Certifications and or experience with any of the following is a plus: Honeywell, HID, Napco, Bosch, GE (Interlogix), AXIS, Exacqvision, Milestone, Uniview, Software House, Keyscan, Avigilon, Kantech, Brivo

A minimum of 2+ years field experience installing/servicing Burglar Alarm, Access Control, and Video Surveillance, and Networking is a plus, but not a requirement

• Ability to regularly follow verbal, written, and pictorial instructions

• Specific knowledge of security, access control, and IP camera systems

• Previous experience with networking devices, systems, and IT processes

• Able to pull wire in commercial buildings, schools, and municipalities

• Experience with conduit bending and installation.

• Ability to work unsupervised and exhibit good time management

• Proficiency using power tools

• A high school diploma and relevant electronics technical training

• Must possess a valid driver’s license

• Clean driving & criminal record required

• Successful completion of Background check and CORI check after offer acceptance

 

This role has a range of $37 to $42 per hour, dependent on the candidate’s background, certifications, and experience.
