Plymouth Access Community Television

Plymouth TV, which covers several towns and has a very busy studio schedule, wanted to install a new lighting system that would be able to keep up with the high demand of their producers. Having two shooting spaces within their moderately sized studio offered a challenge for the lighting design.

We created a full LED lighting system based on having two layers of lighting – one for each set. By installing the lighting on two different layers, we were able to have the lighting from one set shoot over and under the lighting focused on the other set. With the addition of color-changing LED fixtures, we were able to effectively give the illusion of showing the studio on camera to be much larger than it actually was. With everything being controlled by a 96-channel DMX control board, each producer is able to choose their background and lighting scheme within seconds without ever getting on a ladder or needing assistance from a Plymouth TV employee.
