ORCTV Commends Ockers
I am writing this on behalf of Jonathan Lipsy the Manager of Broadcast & Lighting for Ockers Company. Jonathan designed and installed the lighting grid for Old Rochester Community Television’s studio build in the spring of 2015. ORCTV was moving from an historic building with limited studio space into a much larger space offered to our organization, in the local high school, Old Rochester Regional High School. While the new studio was very spacious, it was not without its own set of challenges.
The space ORCTV was offered by the school district was on old teachers’ lounge. With the studio being located on the first floor of the school, the ceiling is cluttered with electrical and I.T. conduit, heating and cooling ducts, lights, pipes for fire suppression, alarms, speakers and all other manner of equipment related to a school. Also, these structures exist at a variety of different levels suspended from the ceiling, all of which stood as obstacles to any studio lighting grid that would be installed. Further, being a small access station with limited resources, it was very important that Jonathan’s lighting design remain on or under budget.
With all of this said, Jonathan designed our organization a lighting solution that was beyond our wildest expectations. The design was installed in very tight space in a very short amount of time that, when completed, had turned a dusty old teacher’s lounge into a state of the art access center that our community can be proud of. Jonathan is one of the most professional and conscientious vendors we have had the privilege of working with. He treated our project as a top priority, answering every question in terms both the staff and Board of Directors could understand, making every step of the process smooth and seamless. We were lucky to have Jonathan’s knowledge, talent and expertise in creating our wonderful new studio. To say that we could not have completed this project without him is an understatement. We are grateful to have had the services of such a dedicated professional.
