We are seeking an experienced Project Estimator to prepare and submit public and private bids. Oversight responsibilities will include take-offs, review and interpretation of bid specifications and drawings, site surveys, and contract documentation. This role will also assist the Project Managers with tracking project progress, as-builts, and close out documentation.

 

The ideal candidate will possess a solid Estimating background strong and have a foundation in project planning, execution, and client acceptance.

 

Responsibilities

• Prepare Scope of Work by analyzing, collecting, and summarizing information for the team

• Create and maintain contract documentation such as As-Builts, Change Orders, Closeouts, O&Ms, RFIs, and Submittals

• Gather blueprints, proposals, related materials, and specifications for Estimating preparation

• Compute costs by analyzing labor, material, supply chain, and time requirements

• Research and source the best prices from suppliers and sub-contractors

• Help clients make investment decisions to identify cost effective ways to complete projects

• Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, suppliers, team members, and vendors

• Present estimates and analysis to clients, management, and stakeholders

• Resolve discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information, and providing it to appropriate resources

• Present finalized Estimates by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information

• Contribute to the team’s efforts by accomplishing related results as needed

• Provide guidance to all team members on proper OSHA standards and safety precautions

• Determine labor, material, time requirements by studying blueprints, proposals, specifications, and related documents

• Experience and knowledge with both existing new construction structures

• Perform other duties as requested

 

Required Skills and Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of Estimating experience required

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work within project deadlines

• Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Teams)

Awareness of construction costs and principles, with an in-depth knowledge of construction materials and suppliers

• Must be able to travel to various client and constructions sites when required

• Passion for customer service and quality of work

• Possess positive approach and professionalism

• Must be able to think independently and prioritize work for efficient completion of tasks and team communication

• Must have reliable transportation

• Current, valid, state-issued driver’s license is required

• Great time management skills to divide and prioritize daily tasks to complete projects as scheduled

• Successful completion of Background check after offer acceptance

• Occasional work in tight and/or narrow spaces, such as raised floors

• Must be able to stoop, kneel, or crouch for long periods of time

• Excellent analytical thinking with an attention to detail

• Able to read and interpret technical documents

• Handle daily responsibilities with a sense of urgency

 

The salary range for this role is $70,000 to $80,000 annually, dependent on the candidate’s background, certifications, and experience.
